EuroMed Youth Study Visit - 2014

On Monday, December 1st 2014 - JUZOOR launched an international youth study visit project entitled “Explore Youth Initiatives in Palestine”. The launching ceremony was presented by Dr Salwa Najjab – Director of Juzoor and Ms Tahani Abdl Samad from the EuroMed Youth Unit at the Higher Council for Youth and Sport in Palestine.

“Explore Youth Initiatives in Palestine” is a EuroMed youth study visit aimed to Expose young people from the EuroMed region to social entrepreneurship experiences through youth initiatives, to Develop the understanding of youth initiatives & entrepreneurship; & its relation to Youth Work and to Reflect on how Youth Work can be recognized as provider of youth entrepreneurship.

The project is composed of 6 partner countries (EU and MEDA) from Spain, Slovakia, Italy, Turkey, Jordan, Morocco, and Palestine.

This EuroMed Youth study visit was organized by JUZOOR from December 1st to 5th 2014 in Ramallah. Total of 26 participants took part in this study visit. Each partner country sent 3 participants (one youth worker/leader and two young people). The study visit program included information session, educational activities, working group and discussions, study visits to around 20 youth initiatives (social, educational, economic, entrepreneurial) and 3 youth organizations in Ramallah, Qaliqilia, Tulkarem, and Jericho> Young people worked together to come up with new ideas to cooperate together on joint EuroMed youth initiatives and activities in their countries, and all partners developed long strategic partnership for 2015 within the Erasmus + and EuroMed Youth programs.

The study visit was closed on evening Friday 5th delivering certificates to the participants in the presence of Mr Mazen Malouh – Head of the EMYU, and Tahani Abdel Samad – International Relations Officer at HCYS. The project was applied to the last deadline of call of proposals in 2013 within the EuroMed Youth Programme IV by JUZOOR and approved by the EuroMed Youth Unit in Palestine and EC Delegation in Jerusalem, and funded by the European Commission.

JUZOOR is a Palestinian organization established in 1996 in Jerusalem. It has started its experience in EuroMed region in 2007 and it promotes for non-formal education.

EuroMed Youth program IV: is a regional program set up within the framework of the third chapter of the Barcelona Process entitled “Partnership in social, cultural and human affairs”. Its geographical scope comprises 35 countries (27 EU, 8 MEDA). It promotes the mobility of youth and understanding between people in relevant to common topics in the EuroMed region.

 

Objectives:

  1. Expose participants to social entrepreneurship experiences through youth initiatives
  2. Develop the understanding of youth initiatives & entrepreneurship; & its relation to Youth Work
  3. Reflect on how Youth Work can be recognized as provider of youth entrepreneurship
  4. Increase the knowledge of participants as to the EUROMED Youth Program and future partnerships

 

Main Activities

Information sessions, educational exercises, working group and discussions, field visits to youth initiatives places and youth organizations, building a study case of successful and best practice as a youth entrepreneurship.
