Juzoor Conducts Training Program on Mental Health and Psychosocial Response in Crisis Contexts

Juzoor for Health and Social Development conducted an eight-day training program, “Mental Health and Psychosocial Response in Crisis Contexts”, as part of the “Mental Health Matters” project, implemented in partnership with CARE Palestine and supported by the Belgian Agency for international cooperation.

The program was carried out in collaboration with the Palestinian Network for Early Childhood Development (PNECD), BRAC University’s Institute of Educational Development in Bangladesh, and the National Early Childhood Committee, bringing together over forty professionals from health, social, and education sectors. Participants included members of the Palestinian and Arab networks for early childhood development, representatives from NGOs, ministries, universities, and community organizations, creating a dynamic space to exchange knowledge and experiences between Palestinian and international experts.

The eight-day training program, which started in February 2026 and was conducted online, was delivered by MHPSS experts from BRAC University. the training combined theory and practical exercises to strengthen skills in communication, empathy, stress management, and psychological first aid. It also focused on supporting children and adolescents in crises, emphasized self-care for frontline workers, and familiarized participants with referral mechanisms to specialized services.

This initiative is part of broader regional efforts to equip professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to respond effectively to the mental health challenges arising from conflicts and crises, while taking into account the unique Palestinian context and the needs of local communities.
