Vacancy Announcement: Project Officer

01 January 2024 – 31 December 2024. (Subject to three-month trial period, and renewal subject to successful evaluation and fund availability).

  1. Organization Setting:

Juzoor is a leading Palestinian NGO dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Palestinian families and promoting health rights in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. We promote an interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral approach to improving the health and social well-being of individuals, families and communities based on national targets and needs. Juzoor works on multiple levels with civil society organizations, professionals, governmental bodies, service providers, and the community at large. Our principles are to build the capacities and empower local communities, specifically targeting women, children and youth, through innovative programs that address their psychosocial, educational, economic and reproductive health needs.

Under the supervision of Project Manager, the Project Officer will be responsible for providing daily management of the assigned project(s) and support the day-to-day activities and resources of the project.

The Project Officer will undertake his/her duties in close consultation with the programme colleagues and in close collaboration with the Administration and Finance team. The Project Officer will be responsible for drafting terms of references as described in the Project, participating in short listing and interviewing candidates, preparing narrative and financial reports, and generating innovative ideas to assist in facilitating the implementation of project activities.

  1. Role of the Project Officer 
    • Work closely with the assigned Project Manager(s) and assist by providing inputs and review of proposed structures and contents related to the assigned project(s).
    • Assist in the preparation of and participate in assigned interventions for Juzoor and other Juzoor-designated personnel.
    • Contribute to the delivery of project outputs Supervise consultants and ensure the quality of their deliverables.
    • Collect information to produce and disseminate reports and documents as needed.
    • Manage the partners and field workers responsible for the implementation of project activities on a daily basis.
    • Join the Juzoor teams in conducting the needed visits for assessment, coordination, facilitation and logistical preparations for the targeted groups and locations.
    • Submit regular reports for works completed, including notes and recommendations for making Juzoor services better.
    • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement in service delivery.
    • Implement, complement and ensure all assigned tasks are completed as required`
       
  2. Level of Responsibility:
  • Carries out assignments independently as well as in collaboration with Juzoor team when needed.
  • Expected to find solutions to problems after discussion with supervisor.
  • Direct Supervisor: Senior project manager.
  1. Experience required:
  • Minimum of 12 months of working with health and/or MHPSS activities and field work coordination.
  • Good knowledge of the health and social sectors, including of people living with disabilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mental health and psychology or similar.
  • Knowledge of and experience with project management methodologies including results-based management.
  • Proven record of mobilizing resources in the private and/or public sectors.
  • Proficient computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications.

  1. Language requirement:Fluency in English and Arabic both spoken and written.
     
  2. Working Week:   Mondays through Thursdays, and Saturdays from 08:00 – 15:00 daily. Flexibility of working hours may be coordinated with supervisor. Official weekends are on Fridays and Sundays.
