Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) and Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) Training
As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of maternal and child healthcare in Palestine, Juzoor organized a three-day intensive training on Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) and Helping Babies Breathe (HBB). The training brought together 24 healthcare providers from Palestinian Ministry of Health hospitals and was conducted under the “Power to Choose” project, implemented in partnership with Oxfam and supported by the Government of Canada.
The training was led by a team of certified instructors from Juzoor, headed by Dr. Ahmad Sarahaneh, Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist, who emphasized that the program combines both theoretical and practical components through simulations of real-life emergency cases. Dr. Sarahaneh highlighted that this type of training strengthens the preparedness of medical teams, builds their confidence, and enhances their ability to respond effectively during critical moments in childbirth.
It is worth noting that Juzoor holds an exclusive license from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), allowing participants to receive internationally accredited training and earn a valid certificate for five years.
These courses aim to strengthen the skills required to manage obstetric emergencies and reduce health risks for mothers and newborns, thereby improving the quality of healthcare services in Palestinian hospitals and positively impacting the health of the community as a whole.
