Visit of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to Juzoor in Gaza
Juzoor for Health and Social Development welcomed a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at its office in Gaza City, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination and partnership in community-based rehabilitation services for those affected by the war. The visit took place within a joint coordination framework aimed at enhancing collaboration and integrating roles in the delivery of rehabilitation services, including discussions on specialized medical interventions, particularly stump revision, to improve service quality and facilitate timely access for amputees.
The meeting featured a presentation on the achievements of Juzoor’s Community-Based Rehabilitation Program by the Rehabilitation Project Manager, alongside opening remarks by Dr. Yahya Abed, Director General of Juzoor in Gaza Strip, who highlighted the importance of partnerships with international organizations in ensuring the sustainability of rehabilitation services amid Gaza’s challenging humanitarian context.
Discussions also focused on strengthening coordination and avoiding duplication of services. The visit concluded with practical recommendations to improve referral pathways and clarify roles between both parties, in support of better rehabilitation outcomes and the social inclusion of injured persons and persons with disabilities in Gaza.
