Juzoor Supports Children’s Mental Health in Gaza
As part of its ongoing efforts to build an aware generation capable of coping with stress and challenges, Juzoor for Health and Social Development continues to implement a series of awareness-raising events and interactive activities aimed at promoting mental health concepts among children and adolescents under the slogan “My Mental Health Comes First.”
The activities focus on reinforcing the importance of mental health as a fundamental pillar that is no less important than physical health, in addition to breaking the silence surrounding mental health challenges, simplifying related concepts, and encouraging participants to seek support when needed.
The events also aim to address the social stigma associated with seeking psychological support by providing a safe space for expressing emotions and fostering a culture of acceptance and support.
A total of 200 children participated in group and physical activities designed to create a safe environment for creative emotional expression, relieve stress, transform negative energy into positive engagement, and strengthen a sense of cooperation and belonging among participants.
These activities are part of Juzoor’s ongoing strategy to provide psychosocial support services and raise awareness about specialized services available to the public. The events witnessed strong engagement from children and adolescents, who found a safe space to express themselves and better understand their emotions.
This initiative comes within the continued efforts of Juzoor and its partners to promote a safe and supportive environment for children, especially in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that this project is implemented in partnership with War Child, with support from the World Health Organization in the occupied Palestinian territory (WHOoPt).
