Psychosocial Support and Nutrition Training with the World Food Programme (WFP)

Juzoor for Health and Social Development, in cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP), conducted a training on Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Nutrition, targeting 18 facilitators from Jenin, Nablus, and Tulkarem, as part of the Program for the Prevention of Malnutrition among Children, Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women.

The training aimed to strengthen the facilitators’ knowledge and skills, enabling them to provide effective support to pregnant and breastfeeding women and mothers of children under five.

The training covered Psychological First Aid (PFA), stress management, and positive parenting, in addition to basic nutrition concepts, the My Plate Model, and the importance of nutrition during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life. It also addressed malnutrition and its prevention, including anemia prevention, complementary feeding, appropriate food textures, healthy cooking, and food safety.

The training was delivered through an interactive and practical approach, incorporating discussions, activities, case studies, and experience-sharing. This enabled participants to gain practical knowledge and tools that can be applied during their sessions with the targeted groups. Participants expressed a high level of satisfaction with the training, particularly appreciating the relevance of the topics, the interactive methodology, and the skills they gained.

Through this program, Juzoor continues to build facilitators’ capacities and strengthen their role in supporting mothers and children, contributing to improved nutrition, well-being, and healthy child development.
