Juzoor Presents Key Findings of a Study on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Violence Against Women and Girls in the West Bank

Juzoor for Health and Social Development presented the findings of the “Barriers Analysis and Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices Assessment on on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Violence Against Women and Girls in the West Bank”.

The study was conducted under the “Powered by Women” Project, implemented by Juzoor in partnership with CARE Palestine, with support from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), that project aims to advance women’s rights and leadership and ensure their access to quality health services.

The findings highlighted how social norms affecting women, girls, men, and boys, institutional practices, and political and economic conditions affect access to information, decision-making, and appropriate services. They also revealed gaps in awareness, privacy, and service accessibility, alongside changing perspectives on bodily autonomy, psychological well-being, and shared responsibility.

Participants recommended the need for long-term, integrated programs, stronger referral and coordination mechanisms, and greater engagement of men in caregiving and family life.

Participants also stressed the importance of using the findings to inform policies and programs that improve access to safe, high-quality, comprehensive services for women, girls, and young people.
