Barlant Al-Afouri

Barlant Kamel Al-Afouri is a Palestinian from Nablus, holding a bachelor’s degree in psychology from An-Najah National University. She has completed numerous specialized courses and trainings in mental health, including family and marital intervention, counseling skills for children, psychological trauma, cognitive behavioral therapy, and a referral system for cases of violence.

With over 20 years of experience as a psychologist, Barlant has worked with various international and local organizations, providing individual and group counseling, awareness-raising, training, and case management across a range of programs, including child and family protection. She is also experienced in providing remote psychosocial support to survivors of violence, and has expertise in psychological first aid and crisis intervention.

In addition to her clinical work, Barlant is a trainer in several key areas, including mental health, positive parenting, reproductive health and sexual education, and team-building for diverse groups, including professionals, parents, and youth of both genders. She currently serves as a project manager at "Juthoor," focusing on children aged 3-6 in marginalized areas. This project aims to support and improve early childhood education opportunities and enhance caregivers' understanding of children's social, emotional, and developmental needs, empowering them to provide ongoing support for the optimal development of children
