Training on Healthy Food Preparation for School Canteen Supervisors
As part of the Nutrition-Friendly Schools Project implemented by Juzoor for Health and Social Development in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education – School Health Department, and with the support of UNICEF, Juzoor organized a specialized training on healthy food preparation for canteen supervisors from 34 targeted schools across different governorates in the country.
The training was delivered by an internationally accredited chef from the Inash Al-Usra Association in Ramallah and focused on skills for preparing a variety of healthy recipes, including hot meals, desserts, salads, and natural juices. The aim was to improve the quality of food options offered to students through school canteens, enhance their health, and align with healthy nutrition standards.
This activity comes as part of ongoing efforts to ensure a healthy and safe school environment for students by adopting a comprehensive health approach, in which school nutrition is a key component. Since its launch in 2018, the project has contributed to raising awareness among students and school staff about healthy eating habits, promoting physical activity, and ensuring the availability of appropriate food through school canteens, while also engaging parents and the local community to support a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for students.
