Juzoor briefs Palestinian ministries on Gaza’s humanitarian and health situation and its relief and development programs.
Juzoor for Health and Social Development hosted, at its new headquarters, H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, H.E. Minister of Health Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan, and H.E. Minister of Social Development Dr. Samah Hamad. They were received by Dr. Salwa Al-Najab, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, and Dr. Umayieh Khammash, Director General, along with members of the Board and the organization’s staff.
The meeting began with a virtual discussion with Dr. Yahya Abed, Director of Juzoor in the Gaza Strip, during which participants reviewed the current humanitarian and health conditions in Gaza, as well as the organization’s ongoing efforts through primary healthcare programs, rehabilitation and habilitation services, and health and social interventions aimed at supporting the most vulnerable groups amid the exceptional circumstances facing the Strip.
The meeting also included an in-depth discussion on areas of joint cooperation between the Ministries of Health and Social Development and Juzoor, particularly in issues related to early childhood, adolescence, healthy aging, and community health promotion. Participants explored ways to develop joint programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of services provided to citizens and strengthen integration among national stakeholders.
The discussion further addressed the challenges arising from the ongoing state of emergency in Palestine, and ways to strengthen preparedness and response to crises through unified efforts and improved coordination mechanisms between governmental and non-governmental institutions, ensuring the sustainability of essential services and access for the most affected populations.
Participants emphasized the importance of continuous partnership and coordination across national sectors, commending Juzoor’s role in supporting the Palestinian health and social system and enhancing community resilience through its diverse development and humanitarian programs.
The meeting concluded with a tour of the organization’s new headquarters, where the ministerial delegation was introduced to the various units and future plans Juzoor aims to implement in the coming phase. They reaffirmed the importance of continued joint efforts to promote the health and well-being of Palestinian society across all life stages.
