Juzoor is pleased to present to you this professional guide, “Friendly Journalism: Professional Reporting on SRHR "Sexual and Reproduvtive Health and Rights” This manual is the outcome of a unique partnership between Juzoor for Health and Social Development and the Media Development Center at Birzeit University. This joint effort represents an important step towards fostering a conscious, responsible, and professional media that can address sensitive issues related to SRHR with both scientific rigor and human sensitivity. The guide serves as a knowledge-based tool designed to empower journalists, to cover these topics from a comprehensive rights-based and social perspective. It takes into account cultural particularities and the local context, while avoiding superficial, sensational, or stereotypical approaches. Above all, this guide reflects our deep belief in the pivotal role of media as a key partner in driving social change and in breaking the silence surrounding such issues, thereby helping to build an environment that supports dialogue, awareness, and collective responsibility.

Recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities within the Palestinian healthcare system, this guideline serves as a comprehensive reference for hospital management to ensure the delivery of exemplary care for neonates. In the development of this guideline, a wide range of stakeholders, including medical experts, hospital administrators, and healthcare policymakers – have been consulted. This collaborative approach has been instrumental in creating a well-rounded and practical set of standards. Its overall goal is not only to address current needs but also to lay a foundation for continual improvement and alignment with international best practices in neonatal care.
